Weather Warnings

Should the Education Bureau take a particular decision concerning a typhoon or rainstorm that decision will be enforced and take precedence over the usual rules specified below.

Typhoons

STANDBY SIGNAL NO. 1

All classes are operating normally.

STRONG WIND SIGNAL NO. 3

When the T3 signal is declared before 7 am, all morning classes will be cancelled.

When the T3 signal is replaced by T1 or is cancelled before 11 am, all afternoon classes will resume. In other words, if the T3 signal is still issued at 11 am, all afternoon classes will be cancelled.

NO. 8 NORTHEAST GALE OR STORM SIGNAL

When the T8 signal is declared before 7 am, classes will be cancelled. When this signal is declared during the school day: children remain in school and are sent home after restoration of normal traffic conditions.

Rainstorms

AMBER RAINSTORM WARNING SIGNAL

All classes are operating normally.

RED RAINSTORM WARNING SIGNAL or BLACK RAINSTORM WARNING SIGNAL

When the signal is declared before 7 am, classes will be cancelled.

When this signal is declared during the day: school will remain in session until the end of class that day.

In case of bad weather, please listen to the radio or television in the evening and the morning to ensure that there is no typhoon or rain storm threat.
